The Vision of Command Browser

This is a letter from Ash Bhat, CEO of RoBhat Labs

When Rohan and I started RoBhat Labs, we were sophomores in college excited about the potential for the role that the internet could play in our lives. At the time – we were roommates at the University of California, taking a data science classes on how teach computers to classify accounts on Twitter.

Our journey started in 2017 when we built bot classifiers to help people on Twitter recognize automated accounts. Our mission then was quite simple – provide people the tools to make better decisions for themselves. We executed on this mission by building browser extensions used by thousands that made it easy for people to quickly check the tweeting behavior of the accounts they were reading.

In 2020, as 23 year olds, it was time for us to take an even bolder bet. We decided that we’d build a web browser with the mission to give people to tools to think for themselves as they browsed any site. Tools like highlighting would be foundational to the product to help people focus. Tools like note taking would be easily available for people to have the space to think for themselves. The big idea – we’d build a browser that would give people Command over their use of the internet. This product has been a joy to build & we’re excited for you to try it today.

As we look to the future – we want help make a world of well informed people making the best decisions for themselves and the world around them. In the short term – that means more thoughtful reading & more control over your browsing experience. In the long term – we’re going to continue building information products that help people make better decisions for a better world.

Best,
Ash & Rohan
